Terry Fox Run/Walk

My grandson asked me today about the Terry Fox story.  So I got on you tube and showed him some of his story.  My grandson is only 7 but is at the age where he has a lot of questions and I try to answer them as honestly as I can.  I couldn't believe Terry Fox was born a year before I was born and passed away very young.  I had an opportunity lately to take part in a Terry Fox walk.  I didn't intend to walk at all.  We just went over to get some pictures of our son who was biking and his girlfriend who was jogging 10k.  So we started to walk and it was such a beautiful day, and it gives you such a good feeling to see so many people (over 1000) take part in the walk.  Terry would be so proud, wouldn't he? Having lost my own brother at 53 to stomach cancer and my husband losing his mom and sister, we felt very happy to do 5k for them. So I thought I would share a little of that day with you.  So here goes :

I thought the t-shirts were a wonderful touch.

It was a chilly day, but worth it.

I got to meet my sons girlfriends gramma, and her husband is battling cancer right now.  We had a nice walk and talk.

Of course I can't go anywhere without my camera and enjoy the beauty of our small town.  Everyone should do their part to help charities, even if it is a few pennies in a container at the checkouts, none of us ever know if we will ever need help.
