Movie Making In Wolfville

Our little town was a abuzz this summer with our town being chosen to be part in a movie.  I believe it is called A November Christmas with Sam Elliott.  There were a few popular actors in it.  But Sam is the one I was looking for, and I found  him, haha.  Hope you enjoy.
They were busy all over town getting everything ready.

They took over the town and we loved it!

Had fun watching the process.

They even covered the old bank sign to read Sullivan Cove Library.

This was an empty building on the corner and they transformed it into a flower shop.

Someone came up to me and asked for my autograph, haha.  I almost played along but couldn't.

This was outside of the library.

They decorated for a few days.

Everything was so well planned.

Could not believe my eyes when Sam Elloitt appeared.  But he always made sure he was facing the other way.

Good lord we were excited, haha.

Poor guy trying to get a bite to eat.

My sister having fun.

Sure felt like Christmas on a hot August afternoon.

Peter and I were having a great time.

We wanted to stay until dark to see all of the lights lit.

Getting prettier by the minute.

The library is taking shape.  They are shooting the big scene tonight.

I hear our town is planning to recreate the movie lights this Christmas!

Camera is ready.  And they allowed us to stay on the street and watch the scene being shot.

So fun.  We couldn't use cameras though while they were taping.

The movie will be on tv this November on the Hallmark channel.  I sure hope we will get to see it.  If not or local video store will have a few copies.

My Journey of the Heart

It was 28 years ago that we had to say goodbye to my father from heart disease.  The hardest part was that only 6 months before we buried my 19 yr old brother.  It was one of the roughest years.  My father had his first heart attack around 50, no warning.  And that is the age I am now.  Women need to be aware of signs and sytems of heart problems, which are very different then a mans.  I have been having funny feelings in my neck since last winter, when I would use my treadmill my neck would tighten up.  So I just stopped using my treadmill.  Then I started to have out of breath spells when I climb stairs or hills.  No chest pain, no arm pain. So I finally decided to see my doc about this.  She sent me to a heart specialist and since Monday my world has changed.  It went from stress test, which didn't go well.  He is now sending me for a dye test to see what may be going on.  He says a woman my age shouldn't have had a test like that.  I was floored.  I went kinda numb.  It is just like you always knew it was going to happen, but didn't know when.  I go in Nov for the test and can only hope for good results.  They can do so much more today than 28 yrs ago, where there were very few options.  I made a video of my favorite people in my life, that would be my family.  Wanted to blog it.

The pumpkin people continued!

October is the best month around here, there is so much to see and do.  And one of them is the pumpkin people.
Who ever thinks of these faces are very creative!

This is right on the sharp corner going into Kentville.

They are adorable.

This was across the road.

This is back by the Experimental Farm.

I think they had a star wars theme going on.

Cute!

This one was so cool.

He looks a little angry.

And he looks alittle on the dark side, haha.

When we left there we went to our daughters for supper.  A nice home cooked turkey dinner.  It was so good.  She bought this picture at a little craft store in Berwick, they have really nice crafts there.

I can't believe what a good cook she turned out to be.  When she was young she was my fussiest and now she is on her own she loves watching Rachael Ray when she can and isn't scared to give it a go.

For dessert she made us and Apple dessert, where we come from apple country, she took the apple, scooped out the inside put some butter, then mixed some I think she used a morning crisp cereal, with a little cinnamon.  Cooked for 20 minutes and topped it with ice cream.  It was so good.

More Fall leaves

I wanted to share somemore of our beautiful fall color.

My maple tree on my front lawn.

Many of pictures have been taken under this tree.

This is right before our downtown Wolfville.

This is up behind the new Horton School.

You can view the water towers in White Rock.

This is our famous Hollow Rd. where it twists and turns like a snake but has a beautiful fall view.

I grew up around this area and it has always been a favorite.

This is up in Canaan.

We headed to our daughters for a nice turkey supper. Yum

Behind her house.

These clouds were amazing!
