Our hike to the Balancing Rock

We went to Digby this summer to see the Wharf Rat Rally, and decided to take a drive to Digby Neck, we have never been there.  Once there we seen there was a ferry that would take you across to Long Island.  And if you continue across Long Island you can get another ferry to Brier Island.  I haven't been there either.  The whale watching is good in this area.  Haven't done that either, so maybe next summer.  Anyway on Long Island there is a trail called The Balancing Rock.  For $5 we crossed on the ferry, and found the trail to take a look.
Digby Neck

So the only way to get over to Long Island is by Ferry.

A little Canteen

Here comes the ferry.

Now that's cool

The trail was only like a 5 minute drive, in Tiverton.

Lets check this out and see what it is all about.

I found this place online when I was looking up the Wharf Rally, I clicked on Things to Do.

It was well looked after.

Peter.  Thank goodness this only took like 20 minutes to hike.  But we had to go down 235 steps!  Then back up!

I'm thinking, "this won't be so bad."

Down, down, down we go.

We have arrived.

And there it is.  Pretty amazing.

My legs are still shaking from the steps.

I guess it has stood this way for millions of years.

This rock was quite unique.

Nova Scotia has the best looking rocks.

Just the beginning of the climb back, ha.

Okay, lets do this.

Stopping for some air.

Cute dear.
