While My Love Grows
As I sit here and watch the days go by,
I can see no trace you left behind.
When you left you took part of me,
and you left because of jeolousy.
I wish you would call and let me know,
what to do and where to go.
So I must go where no one knows,
a place to sit while my love grows.
If you ever wonder where I am,
all you have to do is ask my friends.
They will say I ended my eternity,
I shut out the lights of my life.
So darling, I will be waiting at those golden stairs,
for my love has grown and will always wait.
I ended my eternity just for you, and now I know just what I need to do.
I must go and get a chair,
and wait for you on those golden stairs.
Remember I was only 14 when this was written, lol.
My next one, isn't the next one I have ever wrote, but it is one I wrote to my father, on one Father's Day in 2003 and took it to his grave. Here goes:
A Father Like You
It's Father's Day,
don't you see,
that you are not here to spend it with me.
So much you have missed,
if I could just show you the list,
you would be so proud,
I know you would haller out loud,
for life has changed,
everything has been rearranged,
but I do regret,
my children haven't even met,
the dad I love so well,
to say "grampie come see,"
I have scraped my knee,
and play on the swing with grampie and sing,
but I know you are watching,
guarding angels must be talking,
and watching over me.
My next one I wrote was for my older brothers funeral, he passed away just a few years ago with cancer. Yah I know I seem to be losing everyone in my family. So I like to write and remember them. Because all of life hasn't been sad. So here goes:
A Families Love
I know you were in a lot of pain,
I know you were very weak.
You say "How did you know this?"
Because I felt it, in my sleep.
I'm glad your pain is over,
and you're suffering no more.
God finally heard you knocking,
and came to answer the door.
He said, "My son, please come in,"
we have a lot to share.
But first of all, you need to know,
who was sitting in that chair.
I sent your father to let you know
that all will be okay.
He was with you all throughout your life,
and brought you to me that day.
Your mother has always loved you,
all throughout the years.
She misses you with all her heart,
we can see it in her tears.
We know you made it safely,
for everyday we prayed.
"God please look after our brother,
until we meet again someday."
And I want to end with this verse,
from your favorite song:
OH, IT'S GOOD TO TOUCH THE
GREEN GREEN GRASS OF HOME!
Before my brother passed he said there was someone sitting in his rocking chair in front of his window, and I believe it was our father. I have more that I will share, I just need to find them.
